29 HCA members participated in Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training during a Friday, Saturday and Sunday (20 hours in all). On Friday, thet learned about disaster preparedness and CERT organization. Saturday they learned how to deal with fire safety and utility controls, disaster medical ops (part 1 and 2), and terrorism. On Sunday, they were instructed on light search and rescue operations and psychology. Sunday afternoon, students participated in a culminating disaster simulation including community volunteers (victims), the Moreno Valley Office of Emergency Management, and the Fire Department.
