Matthew Stolpe

Born March 16th 1963

•Southern California native living in the communities of Sierra Madre, Idyllwild, Del Mar, Encinitas, Torrance and Hemet

•Educated (K-11) at LAUSD, Hemet Unified and Desert Sun School in Idyllwild. Graduated 1981 Hemet High School. Attended UC San Diego and graduated 1987 with a degree in General Biology. Enrolled in the District Intern Program at Los Angeles Unified School District from 1990-1992 and awarded a Professional Clear Credential in Life Science. Completed a Masters degree in Educational Best Teaching Practices from National University 2013.

•Work experience in the food service industry as a teenager. On campus employment during college at the UC San Diego registrar and serving as a Lab Assistant for an endocrinology researcher (1981-1983). After graduation worked for the Veterans Administration studying psychoimmunology (1987-1989). Then employed by UC San Diego researching diabetes in collaboration with a newly formed biotech company called the Amlyin Corporation (1989-1990). Science teacher for Los Angeles Unified School District (1990-1993), Murrieta USD (1993-1994) and finally Moreno Valley USD (1994-Present).

•Personal interests include home improvement projects, attending jazz concerts, snow skiing and riding motorcycles in the mountains.
