This is a picture from our trip to the Palm Springs Aerial Tram and Taquitz Peak. HCA seniors received detailed instruction on the health career opportunities and educational requirements for employment with the Palm springs emergency medical services and the U.S. National Park Service. Ashley Facio and Kimmy Zapata(the “victim”) are pictured being hoisted in the air by their HCA peers to learn some of the duties required of EMTs and rangers employed through Park Services. They also learned about the equipment EMTs and rangers have to pack into the back country to take care of hypothermia, falls from rocks or cliffs, heart attacks, and the many other health related issues specific to high altitudes and cold temperatures.
