I’m a native Californian who grew up in Culver City loving the beach, mountains, and movies. I graduated from Saint Monica Catholic High School in 1993 and went to Santa Monica College for a year when I was stricken with wanderlust… so I joined the Marine Corps. While it did not offer much in the way of travel, it did instill in me a sense of discipline and determination that served me well when I went back to college.
I spent my undergrad years at California State University, Long Beach, where I was on the archery team and graduated as a McNair Scholar in 2004. Upon graduation, I began working for a start-up in the biomed industry that had developed a new type of CT scanner. To help grow the business, my wife and I moved to Michigan, along with the company. I worked in engineering and service, and soon moved up to head the international sales and service branch. I got to travel the world and found a passion for meeting new people, travelling, exploring new cultures, and helping clients.
Now, my students are my clients. I like to think that I take even better care of them than I did my client doctors and nurses because they are the wonderful and varied future of healthcare.
